Versa Sudden Battery Life drop

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've been loving my Versa since I picked it up back in June. I would always get 4-5 days of battery life out of it, which is what was expected (had a Blaze for two years previous and always got 4 days out of it from day one to the day I handed it over to my GF). However, a couple weeks ago, my Versa suddenly started dying on me in less than 2 days of use, same exact settings, watch face, Bluetooth connection, you name it, as when I was getting 4-5 days on a charge.

I am not very pleased that I now need to take the watch off every other night to charge it. Now I have to take the charger with me every weekend when I'm not at my house. I even tried taking off all day sync and the constant Bluetooth connection (which have been on since I bought it) and it made no difference to the battery life. Anyone know any solutions or reasoning for this?

@dct94 which versions of Fitbit OS and Fitbit mobile app are you on? Would these few weeks coincide with Fitbit mobile update? Also, is your tracker syncing without any issues and are you able to receive notifications without problems ?

I'm having similar issues. Got my fitbit versa in July & loved it.  Chose it over the apple watch primarily because of the extended battery life.  Then last weekend the battery just died a few hours after charging to 100%.  I've done a reset but this doesn't help.  I charge to 100% then go to bed & it's less than 70% when I wake up!  This can't be right! I've read on other forums that this seems like a common problem. Not sure whether to contact fitbit directly or the retailer where I bought it (don't think I have my receipt tho!).

If anyone has had any similar dealings with fitbit please let me know how that went.

thanks!

I cannot speak to specific issues with the Versa.  Maybe Fitbit will answer.  If not, contact customer support.  However, there are a number of things that can be done to maximize Lithium-Ion battery life over the life of all devices. Here are a few:

  • Never charge overnight. Too much heat is the enemy of long-term battery performance
  • Never let your battery get below 25%
  • Never charge your battery beyond 85%
  • Don’t use third party charging cords. They may be cheaper, but their charging parameters may not be right for the device. OEM cords perform optimally for the device

I am experiencing the same issue. I got my Versa in October and it has been fine until this past weekend and now it won’t even go 24 hours. I did have a third party clock face so I have changed that for a Fitbit one. I have restarted it. I turned off  all day sync. I do have heart rate and notifications as that is what I would like to use. I too chose the Versa over the Apple Watch because of the battery life. Now I am really disappointed.  I have fully charged and restarted again. If there isn’t no improvement I will contact customer support.
