Keep asking to update to install SpO2 clock face

I have tried to add the clock face Sp02 Signature to my Versa 2.  I keep getting a message that says "to install this clock, make sure the Fitbit app on your phone and your Fitbit device have the latest update."  It is all updated but still cannot download this clock face.  Does anyone have a remedy for this issue?

Hi @taxgoddess. Welcome! It's great to have a new member here in the forums.

Thanks for the steps tried prior to posting and I'll give you a hand with this situation. Let me explain that to install the SpO2 Signature clock face, your Versa 2 has to be updated to Firmware Version OS 4.2 (71.6.19). If you have a previous version, that might be the reason why you're seeing the request to update to the latest version. At this moment, I'd recommend to sync your watch regularly with the Fitbit app so you can receive the banner to update your watch in the Fitbit app. If this doesn't happen in a couple of days, let me know so we can try other steps together.

Was this ever resolved? It's happening to me with my new Ionic, and I have the latest updates.

Hi @monomoco. It's great to see you here in the forums.

Thanks for letting me know that your Ionic is having the same issues. Just to confirm, by having the latest update do you mean your watch is updated to the Firmware Version OS 4.2 (71.6.19)? I'd recommend to log out from the Fitbit app, force stop the Fitbit app, reboot your phone, open the Fitbit app, log back in and try installing the SpO2 Signature clock face one more time.

I have a new versa 2, with the same issue.  I have synced multiple times per day for the last 4 days and still have not been pused the latest firmware update.

When i first paired the watch it did an update but to an older version.

How do i force it to update to 4.2?

I bought this because the fitbit watch faces page clearly states that the spo2 face is available in canada, but fitbit wont let me update the OS to install it.

I just tried re-installing the fitbit app on a whim, and it updated to 4.2, and I was able to install the SPO2 face.

I’m having the same issue but my app (on iOS) is running 3.32 and saying it’s up to date??? I’ve just got a new versa 2 but it was working on my versa before it broke. Can you offer any help?

Hi @xrachxs. Welcome on board!

Thanks for sharing that you're having the same issue with your Versa 2, as well for making sure the Fitbit app is updated. Just to confirm, may I know what firmware version is running in your watch? Because your Versa 2 was recently set up in your Fitbit account, the latest Firmware Version OS 4.2 (71.6.19) might not be available for your watch yet. If that's the case, I'd recommend to sync your watch regularly so you can be able to update your watch and install the SpO2 Signature clock face afterwards.

look forward to hearing from you.

Same problem on the Versa 2 I had delivered today.  I only bought it for this feature now I just want to return it.  Spent hours online and on the phone.  The watch should not advertise a feature that does not work.

Hi @candycane88. Welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for your efforts and I'm sorry the SpO2 data isn't working correctly on your Versa 2. Because you recently received it, may I know if you've received and downloaded an update? As mentioned above, your watch needs to be updated to the latest version in order to install this app and use other features flawlessly. Please allow the Fitbit app to run in the background so your watch can sync regularly and receive this update.

Hi @candycane88. It's good to see you here in the forums.

Because you mentioned that it's still not working, do you refer that your watch hasn't received the update? After setting up a new watch in the Fitbit app, you'll need to wait a few days to receive the latest update which will allow you to use the SpO2 Signature clock face. In the meantime, please keep syncing as you've been doing so far and once you receive the update, follow the prompts to download it.

I also have a Versa 2 and on my Pixel 4XL I am receiving the same error. I have uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled the app on my phone and it's saying up to date on both devices but can not get it to work

I received the watch on December 25th and have been wearing it since that day. Syncing it all day long and it still says firmware version 35.71.6.19. I've logged out of the app, forced stop the app, rebooted my phone and logged back in and it still does not provide me with an update. When I check for an update, the app says it's up to date. The SpO2 clock faces shows every other reading but the SpO2. Please help.

Hi @CourtnayBasten. Welcome to the Community Forums. @MeeShell1010, it's good to see you around.

@CourtnayBasten, thanks for troubleshooting your watch and for the details provided. If you open the Fitbit app, tap your profile picture > Versa 2, what is the version number displayed? I'd recommend to remove the Versa 2 from the Bluetooth settings, force quit the Fitbit app, restart your watch, open the Fitbit app, tap your profile picture > Set Up a Device and follow the onscreen instructions. Once the process is completed, try installing the SpO2 Signature clock face to see how it goes.

@MeeShell1010, thanks for the steps tried prior to posting. Let me clarify that the latest firmware version is 71.6.19, meaning that your watch is correctly updated. That being said, since it's not showing your SpO2 data, may I know what message is displayed? Have you made sure all the permissions are enabled for this clock face? I'd recommend to remove this clock face, restart your watch and change the clock face to the SpO2 Signature one more time.
