Kik and Text Messages

I just purchased a Versa 2.  I am having issues receiving notifications from Kik and from imessage/text.  All the other social media apps I use have been easy to set up.  But for some reason these two are giving me much difficulty.  I never had this problem with my Inspire HR.  Is anyone else having the same issues or can someone help me figure this out?  I've tried all settings, and restarting ... Frustrated.

I just upgraded from an inspire hr to versa 2 yesterday.  I’ve been very frustrated that I can’t receive text or kik notifications at all on my versa 2 from my iPhone 11.  I’ve read through all the advice and tips and troubleshooting. I’ve tried it all and still nothing!!  I also don’t agree that message previews on any app need to be on in order for notifications to work on the Fitbit. I don’t need anyone seeing my personal messages.  I never needed to do this with my inspire hr. I have been able to add instagram, FaceTime, Snapchat, WhatsApp without issue.  Fitbit you need to get this resolved ASAP.  This product was not cheap and I feel like returning this already after one day and putting my money towards an Apple Watch instead. I stuck with Fitbit because of past experiences but versa 2 has me regretting that decision ... 😕

I have not gone to kik yet because I feel this is a Fitbit issue. I was
able to receive text and kik notifications on my inspire hr without having
to “show previews” on my lock screen of my iPhone. And even with showing
previews on Fitbit will still not get these notifications.

There was a new Fitbit app released today for iOS. Have you gotten it?

Yes I updated it earlier today. And I did the iPhone update last night

Hi @kimmer72 nice to see you on the Fitbit Forums. Thank you for reporting the issues that you're having to set Kik notifications on your Versa 2. Your help is greatly appreciated @Odyssey13.

You did a great job checking the steps suggested here: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device? We haven't received similar reports from other users with this specific notifications. Since you're able to receive all other notifications on your Fitbit, I'd recommend checking with them directly to see if you need to change something on the setting on the Kik app in order to connect with us.

Problem resolved. I had found a YouTube video that recommended restoring
the factory settings on the Fitbit. So I did that and then followed all the
other recommendations others had mentioned on the Fitbit app and now it
receives everything I need it to. After setting up my Fitbit and app again
I switched all social apps to show previews on my lock screen and
notifications screen when unlocked removed the banners on my iPhone 11 and
then I was able to receive texts and kik again, as well as all other social
media apps I use. I’ve always used fitbits with an iPhone and have never
needed to change all my settings like this though. I think clearer
instructions should be added to the box and / or the app instead of having
to read through streams of comments on how to fix issues like this. I’m
just happy I didn’t need to return my versa 2 and look into another smart
watch brand. 🙂
