This may seem a strange question: when you select the running app (or nay other that uses GPS from your phone) do you get the expected pulsating satellite like symbol in the top left corner of the Versa when connecting, going solid when it has made a connect OR do you get a small moving horizontal line across the phone icon in the top left corner? Mine does the latter and Fitbit tell me its a fault and the Versa needs replacing BUT my wife's Versa does the same; so, I'm now wondering if it is a software bug.
So what does yours do?

@SunsetRunner if it's showing the line it means it's still trying to connect. You will know it has connected as it will buzz. Unfortunately latest Fitbit app versions have issues with maintaining stable connection. It is a known problem. It's not the hardware (your tracker). It's the software. Depending on the platform. i.e. if you're on Android, you can downgrade Fitbit mobile app to version 2.74.2. I believe this is the last stable build that is known to maintain GPS properly. Not for everyone probably. You can find apk file on the internet. Or, just wait for Fitbit mobile update in hopes it will resolve the issue.

This morning I tried and I got green notification that it was connected. Yesterday I think I had problem when I went on walk. It did take a little while to connect. I'll try again today if it stops raining.

Quick update. Replacement Versa arrived yesterday - and it does exactly the same, and my wife's does; therefore, it would appear to be a software issue or simply a change in icon design. Other than the inconvenience of me now having to return the original Fitbit, no harm done. It was Fitbit who told me it was broken in the first place - ah well.

So we just have to await a software update for this to be fixed?
I think I had always had Always on location service. At one point had While Using the App. Will try going for a walk and see if everything works, but I guess if a problems will have to wait fix, correct? Is everyone having this problem. If so my problem will continue, correct?

From what someone said, I can't put older version on iPhone. Hope they fix soon.
