Hi,
Since lockdown and gyms closing I have went back to running. I have been running a mixture of 5k and 8k loops.
If I track using my fitbit watch on the run option and take my phone with me it is inaccurate. Only on 1 occasion did it track the KM correctly. I then stopped taking my phone at all and just logged it as a run on my watch without the gps connection and it was incorrect but that is to be ecpected.
I have recently started to log even a walk via the app. Going onto the workout/exercise section, selecting the timer and tracking option. I done this last night again while taking my dog out for a walk and the KM was fine, so was the time but it did not give me a map when I logged into the app. Surely this is the most accurate way for the map to work. I have attached the info the app gave me when I logged the exercise.
One out of maybe 20 walks/runs have been accurate or within 0.2km of what it should be. My stride settings are fine, no issue there and the GPS in my area is fine as it works no problem via other apps. Seriously disappointed it didnt even give me a map this time. Seems to be getting worse instead of better.
I also read a thread stating if power/battery saving mode is on on your phone it can knock off GPS and make it inaccurate so I always have that turned off prior to leaving the house.
What also really has rattled me is I am running 8k in 40 minutes (good for me). My fitness score used to be very good. As its logging everything incorrectly as in its taking me 40 mins to run 5.9k due to the GPS problem, my score has plummeted to poor. Why pay £200 for a watch thats features do not work.
Any help or has anybody the same problem? Has it been resolved?
Thanks

Have you setup the stride yet @SunsetRunner doing so should make a big difference

I said in the original post that the stride was adjusted and not the problem. I am just back from walking with my dog. See below difference in the pics. Non edited is originally what Fitbit says I done vs the route I actually done.
Over 1km in difference and wont even give me heart rate zones now either.

GPS has been an issue with this device since last fall - accuracy for GPS went from 100% to 5% following an update and its never been acknowledged by Fitbit or addressed. They blame "stride length" but it is GPS people - just use the GPS, not my stride. I've ceased trusting my Versa to do anything but tell me the time and count my steps as I participate in weekly and weekend challenges.

I have a Garmin and a polar watch in the basket. Now just to pick which one.
every time over the four years I have been with fitbit I keep saying this is my last fitbit as within 12months they are done. Finally i am going to stick to my guns and draw the line!
