Hi everyone,
I have an iPhone 11 and Versa 3.
I noticed the battery was draining rapidly. I thought, how can this be? Both devices are Bluetooth. Well, I noticed 'MobileTrack' in the device list via the FitBit app.
I removed this and my battery drain has gone. Now the phone uses about 1% with the Fitbit app running all the time in the background, even with location services.
Another trick is to change location settings in iOS, by unticking precise location. That method allows the app runs in the background, and uses location services (set to always) but doesn't use the phone's GPS. It uses Bluetooth and WIFI instead to determine the location (although not as precise, it's a massive power save). If you ever want to start a run, the Versa 3's GPS is used.
Hope this helps someone 🙂
Thanks for reading.

I believe 'MobileTrack' is also what cause some to get tens of thousands of steps added suddenly with no reasonable explanation, though Fitbit has never acknowledged this. Usually the people don't even realize they have 'MobileTrack' set up as a device.

It's odd because Fitbit has permission to read the built-in steps from iOS (which doesn't use any battery) but instead seems to do it's own step processing with the steps that drain the battery (maybe learning your locations). Then you have the app comparing both the Fitbit and MobileTrack steps.
I agree, I have a feeling lots of people have it enabled.
