Hi,
I get a notification that I have a message, but I am not able to read the text messages on my fitbit Versa, Is anyone else having this problem? I can read my whatsapp messages, but not regular text messages. Also, when someone calls me my watch takes a long time to show me someone is calling, it takes about 4 rings for my watch to alert me. Is there a way that alerts can be set at less than 10 seconds?

I don't know about the first one but for the second question, when you get phone calls on your versa, it's forwarded by your phone, meaning it uses Bluetooth to transfer calls. Bluetooth connections aren't always stable and your phone must be within 30 feet. For more info, click here.

So far when my phone rings there is just an onscreen notification for the Versa, there is no option to answer the call even if my phone is paired with bluetooth.

@aharvey0812 Do you have an iPhone or Android? I don't know if that makes a difference but it might.

@Johanna-D you can only receive phone calls from your Versa if you have an iPhone.

What do you mean? I thought the vesa can still receive calls from android but we just can’t accept it (only iPhone can but answered from the phone). Shouldn’t android users still receive a call with a notification on the versa ( for example....Jane smith 000-1111)? Also android users will be able to send quick reply text from the versa sometime in May. This is one reason I am getting the Versa.

@Jayelo Yes sorry that is what I meant. I was having a hard time figuring out the words because I forgot the word. You're correct, my apologies.

What @sarah_lin8 is talking about is that you can receive the notification from pretty much any mobile device when someone is calling, but you can only answer the call from the watch (to then talk through the phone) if you have an iPhone.
If you're using Android phones you need to keep in mind that there are a bunch of things that could hinder the Bluetooth connection.
My personal recommendation would be:
Go to the Fitbit App > Account > Versa > scroll all the way down and turn on the keep alive widget to force the phone to keep the Fitbit App constantly running on the background so that it can swiftly copy the notification from your phone and send it to the watch hopefully in less than 10 seconds.

The same here also on Android (Galaxy S8 with Android Oreo 8.0) and KeepAwake active.
Notifications sometimes appear direct on the watch and sometimes it takes ages.
Together with the following to issues on the Versa, notifications are a real nightmare at the moment (vote if you also have these issues):
Wakeup Display on new Notification
Improve “Raise to wake” functionality on Versa: Display often stays black
So Notifications is really that part of the watch with the most room for improvement. I hope Fitbit invests heavily on fixing these issues as they really cripple the Versa Smartwatch pretty much down to a Dumb-Watch that is mostly unusable for Notifications.
As much i love the Versa for the bright display and great fitness features, i really hate it for Notifications.. After a week of use, this is really annoying and you don’t get used to it..

MrEngineer I am having so many issues with the versa, not counting steps, not clear the days steps at midnight which means they are carrying over to the next day, error messages in the app cause fitbit app to keep closing, notifications not working, and the exercise data not recording in the app. I have had over 11 emails with fitbit and two phone calls but nothing is getting resolved .

Yes, Follow the simple steps below.
1. Open your messages app on your phone
2. Go to settings
3. Notifications
4. Scroll down to more settings in app
5. Turn on Preview Message
That should fix the problem

Yes, you're absolutely right. I am able to receive call notifications on my phone. The reply option will take place once they do the new update
