Mileage inaccuracy

Just took my new fitbit versa for a run outside.  Very disappointed to see it only logged 4 miles when I ran 7....how is it that far off?  It calculated the appropriate steps, almost 14K, but mileage way off

@cmccauslin we will need a little more info on your run. 

Was the phone with you and where you using the GPS with the resulting map shown on the run detail page? 

 

If not then the reason will be your stride setting. The stride setting needs to be increased. 

 

You can check your user settings, if something is off this could affect how Fitbit determined your stride. Now even if the user settings are correct, if your not built like the average person, the stride will still be off.
