Music Controls not working on Versa Lite.

I have had this problem for a while now and have tried doing what fitbit and other users here have told others with simular issues to do. I have been able to pair the watch with my android phone. Lg k30 if that helps. But when I play music on the phone the watch says "start playing music on your phone."  I connected the phone to versa lite classic and have tried powering off the phone and watch. I was able to get it to work when I first got the watch 8 months ago but now it doesn't work. Please help.
