My Versa only works when it is plugged into the charging cable

My versa stopped working. When I put it on the charger it works. When I take it off the charger it does not work.

Seems I have the same problem. Received mine as a present last Christmas from my daughter. Has worked fine until now. Just Stopped working All of a sudden. Put it on the charger, it works. As soon as you take it off, nothing. Cannot even reset because it does not respond to the buttons to push.  So frustrating, only six months old.

Since your watch is under warranty, contact customer service, explain the problem, and do what they suggest.  If you continue to have problems, tell them it is under warranty and you would like a replacement.  It is free if you select the same version and half price for a different model.  They will send you a new face, you need to keep the old straps and cradle.  I'm on my third watch since March.  This one is about five weeks old and working well.

Hello! My Versa 2 just stopped working today!! Same as everyone!! Works when it’s plugged in , but nothing happens when I take it out!!! It’s literally dead!! Tried to reboot it several time with no success!! It’s about a year and a half old!!  Could someone help?

I had the same problem. Contact customer service. Either call or go online to the chat. They will run you through troubleshooting steps and if all else fails, send you a new one!

I just looked again, it's actually "Product Help" which will take you to a page and you can then click on "Get Support".  It will give you options to call or chat.

Thank you!  Called them!!! They offer 2 options!! 50% discount to a new version or a replacement for the old version that I have.

Hey, I am experiencing the same problem as all the other users, my Versa started by randomly switching off on its on with the battery full. I tried to restart it and that did not work and now it only turns on when its on the charger and when i take off it dies immediately. 
i tried to do the factory reset as well and that did not work Please help.

Hi there!! I’ve called Fitbit customer service!! They tried to reset it and restarted over the phone by telling me what to press and for how long but nothing worked!! And because it was less than 2 years old they offered me two options: first was 50% off a new device ( they will give you a few options but the latest version not included) or a replacement device as the same that you have( but they couldn’t say if it would be new or refurbished). I personally took the first offer. Bought a new Versa 2 limited edition for 110£. Witch  I think it’s a good price. The one that stopped working was Versa and I’ve paid 180£ for it.    00448000698505- this is the number I’ve called.

I only have a left button on the side of my Fitbit versa 2

Mine was Versa!!! Not Versa 2!!! Versa has 3 buttons!! Versa2 has only one button!!

My Versa is 1 year and 7 days old and it does not stay out of charging cradle for more than few seconds though in cradle, it shows 100% charged, works fine, and phone can sync with it. But once it is out of cradle, it dies almost instantly. I managed to perform two buttons reset few times and it did not help. Factory reset (three buttons) did not work at all. I suspect either battery is dead or battery firmware malfunctions.

Did you contact customer service to report the problem?  They usually won't replace if the warranty expired, but if you have been in contact with them, I would try it.

I would suggest calling tonight or tomorrow.  You are just over the warranty.  I'm guessing that they will stick to the one year, but maybe they will have a heart.

I’ve contacted them! Fitbit has a two year warranty!! I’m sure they would help.

You must have had an extended warranty.  So glad for you.  I only had a one year warranty.  My third watch started having problems at the 14 month mark, so I couldn't get another replacement.
