My third Versa 2 has stopped working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I really like these watches and find them integral to my daily routine. However my third Versa (2) has just given up after less than a years usage.

I do keep mine on all of the time and excersise most days. So I am after something that will actually last.

Suggestions are welcome

Cheers,

Hi @marcu5p - the Versa 2 is a good watch normally.

What problems did you have, are you sure it is the watch and not something else?

As the watch is presumably still under warranty can you get it replaced if it is indeed faulty.

It would be good to identify the problems you have had as it may help others or to get suggestions as how to fix it.

Hi there, @marcu5p. Welcome to the Community Forums. We‘re taking your comments and sentiments in regards to our products and services into consideration.

To better assist you, would you mind sharing the issue(s) you've had with your Versa 2? If you experience any of the following issues and you've checked your settings, restart your device:

  • Won't sync
  • Won't respond to taps, swipes, or button press
  • Won't track steps or other data
  • Won't show notifications or reminders

For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?

Please know when a Fitbit device is deemed defective we review eligibility using the one year warranty option. For our full warranty terms and conditions, see our Return Policy and Warranty.

Our products are indeed designed and made to last (this goes for each product component) however, there is not an infallible way to ensure that no issues will be present in the long run. Because of this, our Warranty Policy is set into providing as much coverage as we can.

I've moved your post to the Other Versa Smartwatches board for organization purposes.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for your replies.

Yes I have just sent the latest one off for a replacement. I only had it in April. I do wear them all of the time and excercise everyday. So that probably adds to the wear and tear.

I kind of notice them gradually failing a few weeks before they actually fail with them randomly turning off. Button becomes unresponsive etc. But as mentioned in my first post they are integral to my lifestyle.

The first Versa 2:
Would not charge.

The Second One
Button stopped working. Sent back under warranty

The latest one.
Turns on, will not get beyond the logo. Flashes and then turns off and you can't factory reset.

Everytime I do the standard troubleshooting.

My wife has an inspire and it's lasted years. So I may try that. Just looking for some advice before  I do 🙂

Cheers

My Versa2 began rather abruptly to not consistently record such fields as mood, all the sleeping variables, sleep score; essentially all the variables other than the basic ones at the top of the dashboard. There is no consistency in what is not recorded except that the problem seems to be getting worse with time. Advice? My wife wants me to replace it with an Apple Watch. My main reluctance to do so is the potential loss of years of Fitbit-based data. Thanks. Roger Moore

Hi @CaverNSS12548 - have you tried to restart both the watch and the phone to see if it remedies anything?

The Apple watch is probably one of the good watches but the battery life not so much if you are coming from a Versa 2, you might find that annoying. The Versa 2 when working is a pretty good watch, has most functions and is pretty accurate.

Sometimes the watch is working fine but the Fitbit App is having problems. You can check for this on the watch by swiping the face to the left and clicking on the Today app. There you should see the actual values being registered. If these are good then if can be a syncing or Fitbit App issue.

@marcu5p- did you try this solution posted by @MarreFitbit  for the Versa stuck on the logo. Also you can leave it discharge, then charge it  and try that solution. The watch may still be fine.

Hi @Guy_

Thanks for your comment. Yes I tried this a few weeks ago when it failed initially. Unfortunately this method no longer helps. It just goes black after the logo shows up.

Support have advised to send this in and they will replace under warranty.

Really my question was more about realibility of other models. I will keep the replacement as a backup and get something that will actually last.

Cheers,

Hi @marcu5p - thanks for the follow up.

You can find the reliability by looking on the forum, the issues may be more software related, following updates it appears, rather than the watch themselves.

Do post back if you find a good solution.

Thanks
