NO message preview on Texts

My text message will not give a preview when arriving.  I get the options to mark as red, open, cancel,  when I choose OPEN, nothing happens.

I get the preview msg for FB Messaging...

I can't get my text messages to show a preview message.  If i select the message it gives me options to Reply, Clear, Open. If i select open it just goes back to showing that i have a msg.

I do however receive FB messaging with a preview msg. 

Ive tried so many ways do fix this that i think ive messed up the FB msg as im not getting notified now.  Please help me?  I have a Samsung 9S plus

Open will open the message up in the phone.

When you tap the message, depending on the phones settings or your message settings youay or may not see the review.

Check that your messaging app is set to show preview

Also since your asking about a messaging app it would be good to pay the name of the messaging app.

Hello, the text that i use is red and has a plus on it. It doesn't have the option to choose preview. However the FB messenger did give me the option to preview.
