Need help getting started with my Versa

Just curious as to how many people are returning their Versa?  Im thinking about it, because:

1.  It doesnt sync properly half the time.  I checked this morning, and it hadnt synced in almost 24 hours.

2.  Notifications are so hit and miss that it makes them useless if you cant count on them to work.

3.  The music control is terrible, i have only gotten it to work twice.  And there is no specific set of instructions to get it to work, it just randomly does.

4.  Bluetooth wont stay connected, so it doesnt work well with Smart Lock on my Samsung phone.  Half the time it smart unlocks (even though it says its not connected), and half the time i need to enter my pin/iris unlock the phone.

5.  Clock faces are painful to swap.  I get a "no internet" error when trying to change faces, even though i have internet on my phone.  And certain faces reset to their default colors randomly.

6.  Waking the screen up is difficult at times.  I have to violently shake my wrist to get the screen to come on.  Other times, i will be sitting still, and the screen will turn on and off repeatedly.

I havent had a fitbit in a couple of years, but i expected alot more from them on this device.  I had a pebble years ago, and never once had these kinds of issues.  It synced perfectly, and i had no issues controlling music at all, so im not sure where the difficulty lies in the current devices.

EDIT:  Kind of shady, they changed the title of this topic from "how many are returning your Versa" to "need help getting started with my Versa".  I did NOT make that change myself.

EDIT 2:  I think im going to return it today, and get a Samsung Gear S3 Frontier, since they are on sale.  I got music controls to work, and the watch synced ok for a couple days, but all of sudden it has decided it doesnt want to sync anymore--again.  From what i can tell, if you walk out of range of your phone, it cannot reconnect again, unless you unpair and re-pair the device.

Yes, definitely considering it. This is the price you pay for buying new technology when it first comes out.  Might as well have spendt a little bit extra and got an Apple Watch.  The issue with the battery is ridiculous but not as ridiculous as the solution! Having third-party apps and all of the extras was one of the selling features of the versa yet to get the battery life out of it that they promise you can’t have any of that.  Now for almost a week, I have not logged a single day of  active minute yet I average in upwards of 16,000 steps and spend an hour each morning doing cardio.  What is up Fitbit? I have been buying your products for 7+ years now & I feel like I have been totally dupped!

I am. I can’t even get mine setup. It’s paired, but won’t get past 5% downloaded. I’ve followed every suggestion for troubleshooting, chatted with tech support, and googled for hours. I didn’t want an Apple Watch (gave the old one away) because of the horrible battery time, so this looked like a great alternative. I’ve gone back to my Alta HR.

Kept locking up and battery wouldn't last more than a day. I went with special ed. Versa...even though I don't use the wallet app. The battery life is better about 3 days not 4-5 like it advertises...

I love my Versa.  I’ve had it for 10 days.  It has been flawless.  The notifications work perfectly.  Links to my iPhone 8 Plus without issue.  I swim with it and it’s been very accurate.  I’m sorry if you’re having problems with your Versa, I know it can be very frustrating.  I posted just to let you know that the Versa can be a joy to own.

All these problems aren't because of the type of phones being used.  It seems to me by reading several topics in the community that it's a device problem.

It's really a shame that a well known, highly respected company like Fitbit won't listen to the consumers.  I have the Charge 2 and I'm thrilled with it but the only thing I personally would love to see is a fitness tracker that can store my playlist so I won't need to take my phone with me.  I don't want notifications on my tracker...I don't want to 'Fitpay' or add any apps...I just want my music to transfer with no hassle to a device.  I was hoping the Versa would be ideal for my purposes but from the sounds of things, it's too much of a hassle.  My partner had the Blaze and detested it.  I'll wait 6 months to see if there have been any improvements to the glitches which are reported.  I want phone free music but if it's a hassle and doesn't work, forget it.  Oh, and by the way, your response was a bit condescending.

Correct...then again, you don't need to answer if you're 'so tired' of people complaining.  You're just provoking people who are frustrated with a $200 purchase that doesn't work the way it should after repeated attempts to address them.

So happy to read this!  Can you transfer your music playlist via your iPhone?  Or do you have to transfer via PC or MacBook Pro ?

At first I was, but that was because I couldn't figure out how to get the music controls on. The instructions aren't very clear, so I imagine many new users are getting pissed off in that regard. Anyway, its all good- notifications work, the music controls work well with Spotify, google play and amazon music, and when I go biking, phone takes a few moments to get gps ready.

I am returning the device, still having sync issues.  And they changed the title of my post from "how many returning your versa"  to "need help getting started with my Versa"  which i dont need help getting started, i need help getting the device i paid alot of money for to work correctly out of the box.

What app do you use for showing driving?  I am a truck driver and register a crazy amount of un stepped steps! They way I have been doing it, was to go to activities and choose driving.  Doing this eliminated the steps but still shows calories burned.

I’m returning mine and have already purchased the Apple Watch 3. Macy’s has them on sale for $50.00 off.

They change the title of this post but they can not change the fact that Versa released too early with not enough testing before so all first buyers are like beta testers... Am glad that i cancel my order before i receive my versa. As much i would like to stay with fitbit reading for all these problems i change camp and i went to garmin and vivoactive 3. I have it for few days now but i love it. No problem out of the box, connection with huawei mate 9 is continue, notifications work perfect and updates load fast and flewless. I hope Fitbit fix as many problems it can with versa because its a beautiful fitness watch...

I did return my 1st Versa as I was up against the return days limit and didn't know if the issues would be addressed. I picked up a 2nd Versa from a store with a longer return policy (90 days!) thinking that the issues can be addressed with firmware/software updates. I noticed right away that the 2nd watch syncs much better than the 1st even when it was on the same firmware and software. My issues were still with notifications not working most of the time, though. I received the new firmware (32.32.10.15) and android app (2.71) and it didn't make a difference until I did yet another factory reset and reapplied. For the first time doing this my phone actually said the process completed and the Versa was ready - in the past the Versa would be setup but the phone app never seemed to finish. Since then my notifications (calls, text, calendar) have been working for several days now. The only issue I have now is that the Versa can no longer connect to the GPS on my phone (which it did before the updates - for the most part).
