My wife and I got new Versas, from our old fitbits. My app updated to a new look but my wife’s did not. She still have the old one. Does she need to do something?

It will come.  It seems to be a very slow roll-out of the new app layout.  There's nothing to do to get it sooner than it comes.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
