New Versa screen issue

We brought my son a New Fitbit Versa for Christmas, but it is unusable already. The screen is blank but vibrates, we followed the online advice from forum on how to reboot, but all it does then is come back on for a few seconds before glitch lines appear then it goes blank again. My son (17 by the way not a child) has only worn it a couple of times so really disappointed. Have never had an issue with previous fitbit purchases.
