What is the meaning of the white circle with black line in center that appears and quickly disappears when I press button to open the watch?

Hello @KathySM and welcome to the Community.  The Versa 3/Sense have Status Indicators that will appear for about three seconds when you wake your screen.  You are seeing the indicator that you enabled your Do Not Disturb, by the way.  If you don't want to be in DND, swipe to the right on your screen and disable it in your Quick Settings.

Here is a link to Fitbit's Help article on device navigation with the relevant section expanded for you.  The other indicators can show that you are in sleep mode, your Fitbit lost its Bluetooth connection with your phone, or that your battery is critically low.
