New versa 2 won't start

I've got a Samsung Galaxy A6 have downloaded the app and my watch won't connect. Keeps saying 'pairing rejected by versa'. When I turn the watch on it comes up with the screen saying 'to start download the fitbit app'

Any tips? Has been on charge 40 minutes and showing as 3/4 on battery

Of course it will not connect @GeorgiaC95 your not following the setup instructions. 

Trying to pair through the phone will be rejected everytime. 

You must do the setup through the Fitbit app. 

Once the tracker is setup to your account, the app will pair the tracker.

Thanks for your reply but I was following the setup directions. The app was already downloaded and it was still saying this on the watch.
