News App not working

I've installed and uninstalled the FitBit News App multiple times but each time when I open it on my watch, it says, "Nothing to show...try refining your preferences." I've messed with the filters and have selected "all" but nothing will make it show any news. Everything else works great on my watch, syncing is working, I've installed other apps with no issues. Has anyone else had issues with this app or have a fix?

Hi, first off all I assume that you installed the news App from Fitbit itself, if not install that one cause it's working very fine on my Versa. After the installation has finished, you should wait a few secs and then the screen will be refreshed showing you "Settings" and "Permissions". Press the last one and allow all items and press back arrow. Now press "Settings" and a page will open with a list of providers. There should be Fitbit blog (US), your country and the nearest country. Your can except them or choose the one you want and delete the others. I only have the provider for my country. When I press now News on my Versa it says loading and the news pops up. The first time this can take a few secs. When the news shows on your Versa, scroll all the way down to "Filters" and enable/disable what you want/do not want to read. Hope this helps. 

BTW: Mind that regularly reading the news per day, drains your battery faster than normal!!

Me too! In USA and have all the US options selected and getting nothing. I wish FitBit would fix this. (Versa as well)

Same problem with NEWS not working here in Canada!  Hope this is fixed soon.

I am with you on that! Mine has not been working for several days. I’ve uninstalled and installed, did all my settings. Win the list for providers comes up, there is nothing there. It is so frustrating. Good luck to all having this problem.

News app hasn’t worked for me for well over a month now also (Ireland).

I've uninstalled, reinstalled, remanded permissions all to no avail- the provider list remains stubbornly empty when I go to edit it and re-add some news sources.

Has the app been disabled?

The response I got from Fitbit support:

Still didn’t work for me. The News App does not load any news item. It keeps saying “Add Providers. Go to News app settings in your Fitbit mobile app to add your favorite providers.” But when I go to the mobile Fitbit mobile app there is no list of providers. Thus, there are no news items ever in this app. It’s been long time they didn’t fix this useless app.
