Not getting text notifications when battery is low Versa 2

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hello all,

I noticed I stop recovering notifications, specifically texts, once I hit 25% better life on my fitbit Versa 2. I have only had it since late December 2019. This is a consistent issue I am having. Is this normal? Is something wrong with my watch? Sometimes I have to charge and restart it to start getting notifications again. Any fixes cause it is annoying to have 25% left and not get notifications. I can understand if the battery was at 5% or lower.

I can see how that would be annoying, and I would not be surprised to see that as a battery saver thing. I guess that’s just to keep your Fitbit battery to the like 10 days max battery life. I just wish that they would release a low power mode option in the control center of the Versa and Ionic.

Please check the time of last sync. The tracker itself doesn't send out notifications when the batter. Goes down to 30%, but the Fitbit server will send notification after the first sync after the battery is being seen, by the server, as below 30%.

Therefor the tracker needs to syync before the notification will be sent..

The Versa will display a red battery icon in the top right, when the battery is low.

I am not worried about battery notifications. I am not getting phone notifications such as text messages, calls and other items coming through when the battery is low.

When the battery is to low the Versa starts disabling functions to conserve battery.

The best thing to do is charge the battery. Some users charge while the are taking a shower.

I have to keep force-syncing to the app (I keep it open running in the background) and still never got a low battery notification by email or app ...even when my Versa 2 battery was down to 10%. Seemed to coincide with the notice that they were doing another update. Last week or two? I’ve lost track of time after two weeks on COVID house arrest.

Hi @Rich_Laue , hoping you can help give a concise answer here as it looks like you are a forum expert and great resource. I have been searching for about an hour via these forums and google trying to get a yes or no answer on if you can and how to get a text message from fitbit that your battery is low. I haven't found a straight answer, and haven't found instructions if it is possible. I see in the notifications options area in my account icons for a phone and for email with checkboxes for low battery alerts, but I get the impression that the phone icon and checkbox doesnt mean it will send texts. But I'm not sure.  Can you help? is it or is it not possible to get text alerts when your battery is low and how?  It would be much appreciated

I have low battery notifications set for phone and email.

Then under app notifications I have set the Fitbit app to send its notifications to the tracker. By default this is off.
