Not getting texts - Versa with iPhone

I've seen this on a different thread but it went to many different direction so I think it needs a dedicated thread.

I'm using an iPhone with fitbit Versa which is a very nice watch. Was able to get texts just fine on the first day, but on day 2 no texts anymore. All setting are ok and the Versa is connected with my phone via bluetooth and is syncing with the app. I also get notification for calls. This is very frustrating and unless there's an easy way to fix this the watch is going back to the store very soon.

I’m having the same issue and I’ve had my versa for about a month now. Was getting text notifications just fine a few days ago and sometime in the last couple days, they’ve stopped. I can’t figure out when exactly. Same as what you mentioned: Bluetooth is connected, I’ve tried disallowing then reallowing notifications through the app. I’ve also synced it several different times. I also went to different threads and it seemed pretty complicated. Hopefully, others are having this issue too and it’s an easy fix because of that.

I’ve had my Versa for about a week now and I’m experiencing this exact issue....so frustrating!

I’ve followed every recommendation for resolution and I’m still not receiving texts to my FitBit.

Me too, except text notification has never worked. I get notifications of phone calls and calendar events, but cannot get text notifications to work.

I have "Text Messages" enabled on the iOS app's Notification settings screen.

I mostly -- but not exclusively -- use iMessage, but even regular texts (from Android users, for example) do not send a notification.

Versa with iPhone 8, up-to-date OSes.

I was able to restore the messages by turning the bluetooth off on my phone for about 10 seconds and then turning it back on. It's been working since (just a couple of hours) so the big question now is if this was a one time thing or is it going to come back.

Well I called them n they said there having a issue with my message+ I did all the trouble shooting they told me to do still doesnt work I got a samsung Galaxy s9+ so they r currently workin on the situation so hopefully on my end it will work soon.

It is very frustrating. In average, almost every day, most of the times during the night my notifications "go out" and in the morning I have to turn my BT off/on to restore. It works 99% of the times but some times it doesn't work and a couple of times I had to restart my phone. I had Apple Watch for 2 years this never happened even once!

This is exactly the problem I have. Once I figured out the Bluetooth trick, I thought it was fixed, but now I have to do it at least once a day. I had a Fitbit blaze before this and I like the sleek look of the Versa, but these glitches are very frustrating

Hello. I have the Fitbit Versa with an iPhone 8. I had the watch since October 2018. I have been trying to reply to messages from my watch. Everything is setup and I can get the notifications but I just want to know how to respond to them from the watch instead of going to my phone to respond to them. I can accept or decline a phone call from the watch with no problem. I just want to be able to do other things with the watch.

@SunsetRunner Text replies are not supported on Fitbit/iPhone systems, so unfortunately you are trying to do something that Fitbit has not enabled. Currently this functionality only exists for Android users.

However, if you are even getting text notifications on your Versa then I am jealous. I have the same equipment (iPhone 8 and a Versa) and text notifications do not work for me. 

I would really like to know why text notifications have never worked for me, @anyone-at-fitbit.

Yep same here. Get call notifications but not texts between the versa and iphone.

Try going into settings-> notifications-> messages, and set your banner style to “Persistent “. It worked for me. 🤞

@Mrs.E Thank you. This actually worked. I have no idea why it worked, but I am now getting text/iMessage alerts on my iPhone.

I'll try anything.  I upgraded to Versa to try and fix this, but no texts  FITBIT blames the iphone update. I guess they can't keep up with it

I’ve had two different Garmin and two different Fitbit smart watches, all with the identical problem with my current iPhone. Turning off the Bluetooth on the phone and back on almost always gets it working. My belief is that the problem is with the iPhone Bluetooth and Apple does not want to fix it. They would rather you buy an iWatch.  Big Business protecting its territory and not allowing others to play in their sandbox.

i have the iPhone 8 and  not receiving txt notifications. So frustrating! I just bought the versa lite yesterday too and was really looking forward to all the features.
