I've seen this on a different thread but it went to many different direction so I think it needs a dedicated thread.
I'm using an iPhone with fitbit Versa which is a very nice watch. Was able to get texts just fine on the first day, but on day 2 no texts anymore. All setting are ok and the Versa is connected with my phone via bluetooth and is syncing with the app. I also get notification for calls. This is very frustrating and unless there's an easy way to fix this the watch is going back to the store very soon.

My belief is the problem would be universal across the iPhone spectrum. I believe the problem is with the iOS, that Apple built in the code the ability to detect non-iWatch watches and make them have issues. Or, they know of the problem but do not prioritize it high enough to ever fix it, giving priority to iWatch issues.

I tried setting the notifications to “persistent” but txt notifications still isn’t working. How come it works for some people with iPhone and not others?

I just figured mine out after days of being annoyed.
Notifications -> messaging ->set your alerts to notification center .
In this case, you do not have to worry about setting anything to persistent. Hope this helps!

I just tested this once and it worked... fingers crossed it continues to work. I have to wait to get more txts to be sure.
Thank you!

I second that! @dbrink You're better than fitbit's service team... how did they not figure this out for months? (sorry fitbit)

You’re welcome ladies! I’m an analyst by profession. A little deductive reasoning and analyzing did the trick. I mean, it always takes a woman to get the job done anyway 🙂

None of those worked for me 😞 Went through all the trouleshooting and all they can say is that they are "working on a fix." I'm so annoyed and ready to trade my arm brick in....

I have the same issue. I have to do a hard reset of my fitbit versa almost daily in order to get text and other app notifications from my iPhone. Once I do the reset, I can get the notifications just fine. Then I go to bed, put my phone on DND and my watch doesn't seem to want to notify again. I have an iPhone 8 with the Versa (non-SE). I had the same issue with my Versa SE, even after i entered my pin, but it wasn't always daily.

I have to disconnect and reconnect bluetooth every morning in order to get everything to work for the day.

I’ve had my Versa since soon after its release. Text notifications have never worked consistently and I’ve tried every fix mentioned on three different iPhone models and more than one iOS version.

Well after spending about 2 hours with fitbit help and then getting kicked out of online chat, today I fixed the problem myself.
I have an iphone 8plus: go to 'settings' - 'notifications' - 'messages' make sure you have lock screen notification center and banners all checked. I changed banner style to 'persistent' because someone on this thread suggested this, but I don't know if that makes any difference.
this is was only thing I did and I'm getting messages on my Versa now.!
Banners were not checked.
