Not receiving text & email notifications

I had to reinstall the Fitbit app on my phone (Pixel 2) and now I'm not getting notifications on my Versa. I checked the notifications section on my profile and all the listings are for push notifications, not to set the watch up to get phone and email messages. What am I missing???
