Notifications not working

I got my Fitbit Versa in November, and the notifications have never really worked. I've read tons of posts on this and other forums, and it seems that there is an issue with it working with an iPhone/iOS. I have the correct settings in the app and on my phone, but still it isn't working. I get no notifications for texts, calls, or apps. I don't event get a buzz to go walk more each hour or if I hit my goal. This is extra disappointing because I bought this because I like the Fitbit app interface. I've had 2 other Fitbits, and like them, but I'm not excited about this Versa. Everything that I read makes it look like this isn't and won't be resolved, which is pretty disappointing after spending $200. I wish I could have that money back and go buy a Garmin or Apple Watch. Is there anything that can be done with Fitbit to fix this?? I don't understand why it isn't notifying me even for the fitness-related notifications.

Thank you! This almost worked. I got a text on my watch, but it did not
notify me/vibrate even though it is set to.
