Notifications stop syncing after sleep

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

So whenever I go to bed and wake up my notifications no longer sync. Even before I go to bed, if my phone is on do not disturb, I can still swipe down on my Versa and see notifications. But as soon as I go to sleep and wake up the next morning, notifications no longer sleep. I can only resolve this by either disconnecting/reconnecting bluetooth and notifications on versa or restarting versa altogether. I have completed all of these steps on a previous forum:

  1. Turn OFF the Notifications in your Fitbit mobile app and on your Versa, reboot your phone and Versa, and turn the notifications back ON on both devices.
  2. Make sure All-day sync, Always Connected and Keep Alive Widget are enabled in the Fitbit mobile app. Make sure to sync after enabling them.
  3. Make sure the notifications are ON on your Versa. Press and hold the left button to access quick menu. Turn the notifications to ON.
  4. In the Fitbit mobile app, make sure you enabled the notifications and that Fitbit notification service is enabled in your phone settings. It needs to be ON. Can you please take a screenshot of Versa notifications settings in the Fitbit mobile app and post it here?
  5. If your phone is in DND or silent mode, make sure Always vibrate option is enabled in your Fitbit mobile app. Also, it's always a good idea to toggle on/off notifications in the Fitbit mobile app with sync in-between.
  6. Make sure that any app you would like to receive notifications for on your Versa has the push notifications priority set to at least HIGH (this can be done in the Android settings>Notifications). Please see my post herefor more info.
  7. Also, please make sure Fitbit mobile app is not being optimized by Android (Android settings>Battery>Optimization>Fitbit needs to be marked as not optimized).

On #5 I just don't see "Always vibrate" option on my app. I have an iOS device. So I don't know what else to do. Without restarting my Versa every morning.

@SunsetRunner it's great to see you in our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit Versa since it's not getting notifications when you wake up. I appreciate the time you spent trying all the troubleshooting steps that you mentioned above.

I would like know what is the brand and model of your phone.

In the meantime, I'd like you to try a factory reset. To do so on your device, open the Settings app > About > Factory Reset or Clear User Data. Please sync your watch before the factory reset in order to avoid losing current data. Finally, monitor the notifications during the next 48 hours.

Keep me posted on the outcome! Smiley Happy

Thank you JuanJoFitbit for your help. So I've tried several other steps referred by another Fitbit representative (restarting Fitbit, restarting phone, turning on/off bluetooth and notifications) and I've just recently used your recommendation as a last resort. As soon as I Factory reset my versa, the Fitbit now won't even turn on or charge on the charging dock. Not sure what to do now...

I have an iPhone 8 with iOS 12.3.1

@SunsetRunner thank you for getting back and trying the recommended troubleshooting steps. Since you mentioned that your Versa doesn't turn on, please clean the contacts of your watch and charging cable with a cotton swab. This will remove any dust that the contacts accumulate.

Finally, charge your Versa for 2-3 hours. Once it turns on, set up your Versa as a new device, turn on the notifications and see if your Versa receives them.

Let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy

@JuanJoFitbit I have the same problem. Do you have a solution to this?

@bhabuk I still have not received a solution to this problem after a year and then my Versa stopped working so I eventually switched to an Inspire because many of my friends stated they've never had issues with the basic FitBit products.
