Notifications stopped working after app update

This has been going on since I updated the Fitbit app. I tried all the posted suggestions in the Help section but I am still having problems. I can get call notifications but not messages. Also, syncing isn't as seamless as the previous version of the app. Even if I manually sync it, it takes several trial and errors before it successfully syncs. 

 

Mobile Device: Asus Zenfone Max M 1 running Android 8.1.0

@BJCruz it's great to see you in our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry for the late response. However, I would like to follow up on the notifications issue that your Fitbit Versa is experiencing. By the way, thank you for trying to sync your watch manually before contacting our forums.

 

I'd like you to try the troubleshooting steps that are listed in this help article in order to have this issue resolved. After this, monitor the notifications and see if the issue gets fixed.

both mine are doing this charge 2 > moto z2 play Android 8 and Ionic Oneplus 6t android 9.

 

You can unpair, or delete data, they work for a few minutes. Then that re - start windows appears and won't clear, no matter what.

 

Both set ups worked fine for years before the new interface.

I have to manually sync them even though I have my settings to all day sync.

 

Notifications stopped working. It keeps prompting me to restart my phone (I do this every morning after charging) still doesn't work.

 

I get notified when there are calls coming in. Weird.

 

I did all the steps mentioned in the help articles before I posted here. Still experiencing the issue at hand.

my calls (and test text) work with the retarded "notification service is not running. A phone restart is required to re-enable...." showing.

I think we need to wait for an update, I tried everything. it's fixable, it ran 11 hours, soon as I got a text it fell flat on it's face 🙂
