how long does the screen stay on the Versa watch, I am nurse and wanting to know

This would depend on what watch face you have chosen. Some clocks have their own time out setting. 

There is also a setting for the wake time that can be set up to 60 seconds 

Fitbit designed the chronograph watch face with a quick start stopwatch that will keep the face on until the battery dies.
