This seemed to happen after the firm wear update? Was fine before, not sure why or how to get rid of it?

Try a Restart and do it several times if necessary. If that doesn't work, install a different clock face, preferably one from Fitbit.

Doesn't help, and I changed the background many times even the ones from fit bit and restarted it many times..
