Why is it that when I start my Versa to track my ride its only measuring the duration of my ride and BPM.

The miles, MPH AVG and the MPH Max are all Zero. And yes, I have the gps setting on!!!

I successfully tracked a bike ride on April 28, which included distance, mph, etc. However, since then it hasn't tracked those things. I'm not really sure if it's me, it's a temporary glitch, or if there is a bug.

My Versa tracked a bike ride really well today but it did not map the ride. Not really sure how to get it to do that.

I was able to track a bike ride. . Versa tracked distance, time, mph, and heart rate. I had to take my S8 off battery save mode and all was splendid. It was a bit wonky when connected GPS was in power save on my phone. Screenshot_20180508-220324.jpg

I have been able to do everything in tracking but having the map of where I rode showing up in the app as more than just a dot where I started the bike ride. I would like the map to show up as well.

Thanks.

Same problem... My antique Surge worked perfectly?

Best Answer

It used to work when I just got it, but not anymore. I noticed that my Versa is not 'connecting' to the phone gps anymore after starting the 'Bike' exercise.

and yes I have been doing the standard stuff:

-turn off and on bluetooth

-turn off and on phone

-turn off and on watch

-reinstall app

-reconnect watch to app

Nothing helps

Lately mine has been auto recognizing my bike rides even though I have turned auto recognize off for that activity. I have been using Map My Ride for that. I do think Map My Ride way over estimates calories burned. The Fit bit registered half the calories which I think is more accurate while MMR did a better job of tracking the ride. Also, when the Fitbit is tracking the ride, I don't seem to be able to monitor my heart rate. I do admit that I have not worked very hard to figure out if that is possible

Same problem - brand new Versa with spotty or non-existent outside bike tracking (connected to my iphone6)

My Charge 2 worked flawlessly

Just came back from a 27 mi ride - this time my Versa worked correctly!  Don't know exactly why my first ride with the Versa looked messed up with spotty GPS/distance tracking.

My new Versa has been tracking treadmill runs/swims correctly, it was only the connected GPS that seemed to glitch.

Oh well, appears to be working now

For versa to track mileage and speeds it needs to connect to your phone GPS. That happens if the bike exercise is tracked manually from the watch. Each time GPS connection is lost (battery saver, Versa having issues connecting to your phone etc.) speed and distance won't be measured. There will be no map either. Unfortunately due to the latest versa connection issues I haven't been able to track anything based on GPS.

Sometimes the GPS is still "connecting" and literally will say connecting on the Versa. Seems to be a problem with linkage of GPS and the Versa that is inconsistent as I've seen it in other forums and experience it as well. If you don't see the mileage number at the very top of the exercise screen, and it says connecting, that means GPS hasn't fully connected with. it is tracking but will not show the mileage etc. I usually have to cancel and restart. Happens more when I start the exercise indoors/garage vs once i'm outside with better signal. like I mentioned, it's inconsistent, but I have experienced this before too!
