Hello all! 🙂

I've just been out for my first bike ride with my new versa watch and it tracked all my stats very well, such as heart rate, speed etc.

However I was most looking forward to having a map of my  route once done but sadly this didn't happen. I had Bluetooth on on my phone, the app was running and I started the bike excersie on the watch. It said connecting, I waited for a while but was still connecting so thinking it was my location I started and thought it would pick up on the way. I don't think it did?

Also all the stats it did collect arnt available on the fitbit app on my phone? Or I can't seem to find them anyway.

In the app if I press the + icon and the  track excersie, it gives me the options of tracking a run, walk or hike, not bike.

Can anyone help please?

@Mew3428  You've discovered the black hole of Connected GPS.  You did everything right to get the map assuming that you have your location enabled on your phone and you enabled the Connected GPS feature for the exercise shortcut Bike (either via the app or with the little gear icon on the Bike shortcut).  If you didn't have those turned on then be sure to enable them.

Here's a thread that talks about the Connected GPS and various issues.  Its 19 pages long (as of today).  It's full of tips and tricks that work better for some than others.  Of the Connected GPS exercises Bike seems to be the most problematic.  More recent conversation focuses more on tips for biking outside but tips are throughout and range over months of time with different versions of the app and firmware updates.  Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Ahh it's one of those issues is it. Shame. I have a Strava app on the versa watch as well maybe I could use that? But even that seems to want me to run, I don't do running unless for a train or bus lol.

Ps. Do you know of a way to link my Samsung health app with the versa watch? As I like that app or is that a no go?

Thanks for the info I will look through that thread and try some stuff out.

@Mew3428  The Strava app on your Versa will display exercise tracked with the Strava app on your phone.  Not a bad option but you would need to view your phone while biking to see the accumulated milage, pace, etc.  It doesn't include your heart rate.  After you finish the exercise in Strava it will roll over to the Versa where you can view it later.

Samsung Health can't be directly linked to your Fitbit account (AFAIK) but it can be (sorta) indirectly by linking your Strava account to your Fitbit account and then linking your Strava account to Samsung Health.  Also, if you use My Fitness Pal that can be linked as well as some bluetooth scales.  So, indirectly, most of your health data can automatically end up in Samsung Health.  I don't really like the SH interface so I'm not that familiar.  Maybe someone else can advise.

When issuing the connected GPS please make sure that the Versa shows as connected to the app. When it shows connecting their is a previous.
