I have had a Versa for just over 2 weeks and it has been working well until today when I went pool swimming fir the first time with it. After the swim (c.20 mins) I dried the watch and immediately saw that it was working erratically. It restarted itself numerous times, the touch screen stopped working (to taps and swipes), the buttons only worked intermittently and within 30 mins the battery was dead. This cannot be normal after a swim. I am assuming the water seals are faulty but wanted to check with Support before requesting an exchange.

I just recently had the same problem. I have swam with my versa for a whole summer season, but accidentally got in the shower with it and now it won't work at all. I tried drying in rice and by a powerful dehumidifyer, but you can still see the droplets of water in the back of the watch a week later and it won't charge or turn on - just completely dead. I am sad because I got the versa specifically to swim with, but apparently they have waterproofing issues and I'm no longer under warranty. I have been a fitbit user for years and this is my third or fourth one, but will be looking into other brands at this point as I see it is a problem that fitbit is ignoring.

I know this post is a few years old, but I wanted to add my experience, too. I have had my Versa 2 for a little over two years. It's been working beautifully with no issues since I bought it up until the last 48 hours. I went swimming in my pool, which is only 4 ft deep, I noticed by that evening it had shut itself off despite having been charged fully the night before. I charged it again last night, and now it's showing the correct date but the time is incorrect, the screen is unresponsive except to sporadically jump around to random apps on its own and flash and glitch until I reset it, the buttons are unresponsive except when I hit the back button it brings down the notification menu or does a soft reset. I tried several times to do a factory reset and it won't even do that. I finally just searched to see if there were problems after swimming with this particular device and came across this post so it looks like this is just an issue with this device. That kind of irritates me that I spent so much money on this and it lasted barely two years. I have showered with it, I took it in the ocean last summer without issue, but swimming once for 45 minutes in a 4 ft pool and it's now useless. Judging by the other comments, it's not even worth it to reach out to customer service. Looks like I'll be going with a new device from a different brand. What a shame and a waste of money.

So, I posted one of the first messages about this water/swimming issue. I have gone through 5 Fitbit Versa and Versa2 units, and I miss them. I switched to the Apple watch (latest version) about six months ago. The Apple dashboard is more complicated, but it has a feature that allows you to blow the water out after 30 mins of use. So far, so good.

I recently had the same problem with Versa. After using it in the pool, it no longer connected to the phone and the clock was left behind. I chatted with fitbit support and received the mail with the request for replacement. Now I'm waiting to see how long it will take. I'm from Europe, Romania. I chose to change my smartwach with the same model, which I will no longer use in the water.

They sent me a new one. But I don't go in the pool with it anymore.

Of course I won't use it for swimming anymore. I asked the question, because I read here that many waited for the replaced product without receiving any.
