OK, some backstory. I initially had a Versa 2 as my first Fitbit. Loved it. Track walks everyday with it. Obviously with the V2 you had to have your phone with you and GPS enabled if you wanted to track your exercises that way. That was no issue.
Fast forward about 18 months, the V2 was becoming a little long in the tooth. So I upgraded to the V3 and it obviously has on-board GPS. Wasn't the biggest reason I bought it but there it is.
My question is this: if the on-watch GPS on the V3 loses connection to GPS, if you have your phone with you will it fall back to the phone based GPS? I ask because I took a walk this morning and in the middle of it my watch vibrated and I got the 'connecting to GPS' message. It didn't lose connection for long (likely I had some obstructions) but when I looked at the track on the app it didn't look like it had lost connection at all.
It's just 'nice to know' if it does fall back on the phone GPS. It sometimes takes a while to acquire GPS on my walks, so I start it about a minute before I plan on venturing out so it can connect.
Thanks to all for the help.

Hello @kubasolan and welcome to the Community. The Versa 3 only has built in GPS and can't fall back to your phone. Sorry.
