So when will us iPhone users be able to send quick messages off of our fitbits it would be a huge life savor

Unfortunately only Apple knows.  There is nothing Fitbit can do to make this happen.  Apple runs a closed system when it comes to messaging.  Fitbit would love to have quick replies for iPhones, but their hands are tied.
