Receiving duplicate notifications

Getting duplicate notifications, but not every one.  Versa has 32.32.4.19.  Android App is V2.69. Google Pixel, stock Android v8.1.0.  All day sync is on, default notifications (no other apps enabled), Always Connected is on, Keep-alive widget is on.  I see from other forums that this is a common issue among most trackers, but I don't remember seeing the issue with my old Blaze using the same phone/OS.

I am having the same issue with Gmail and I am also using a Samsung7 phone I am using 32.32.4.19 version on my Versa.  I did try the instructions in a previous post and also tried clearing all of the notifications.  I still receive multiple notifications when an email comes through.  I am not experiencing it with the text notifications at all.

Is there any fix for the duplicate message notifications on the versa? I've tried all of the troubleshooting mentioned and was also on the Fitbit chat earlier today with no success. Any other suggestions? Happens with text, yahoo mail and oulook for me.

This is _very_ frustrating... Duplicate notifications all the time. Worst offender is definitely email. In fact it's so bad I've now switched off email notifications which flood my poor Versa with duplicates regardless of what I do. Almost certainly an app issue and desperately needs fixing.

I have a Galaxy S7 and I am getting duplicated notifications for emails and texts and it is killing the battery life on my Versa and is absolutely frustrating. I don't want to have to dismiss the email or text notification 3 or 4 times in a day! Please fix this!

Is anyone else getting multiple notifications?  I reported this yesterday and am curious if I'm the only one.  I use Outlook.  I can set an appointment on my calendar, using either my pc or my phone, and Outlook will notify me 30 minutes prior to the appointment.  That shows up on my phone just fine, and it also shows up on my Versa.  If I don't clear the notification from the phone, it will just count down the time.  When I look at the phone I see 30 minutes util appt, then a minute later I see 29 minutes, then 28, and so on.  It's a single notification on the phone and the time counts down.  On the versa I get the first notification that it's 30 until the appt., but then every time the phone ticks off a minute the Versa gets a completely separate notification.  So, on the phone it's a single notification that counts down by the minute and on the Versa it's 30 separate notifications.  Once I clear the notification from the phone, the process stops.  I was expecting something a little better.

Duplicates occur with my texts and email. I have turned off email
notifications until this problem is fixed.

I'm seeing that same issue but for emails. I receive two notifications for every one email. Texts are working fine for me...

Ditto. I've been ignoring it, but it's a tad annoying.

I am getting text notifications twice and I decided it is because a text sends a notification a 2nd time if you don’t open it after the first notification.  If you open your text message after the 1st notification, I don’t think you will get a second one.  I am not sure about double emails...

I got double text notifications for a while.  Then I realized that I had some apps that also text me, so I was getting the App notification along with the extra text it sent.   I deleted the Apps from the notification list and all is now good.

HI there everyone, Thank you all for keep reporting this issue and bringing to my attention the behavior of duplicate notifications. Just a heads up, I have merged some of your post in one thread to keep a better scope of this issue.

I would recommend to review what @swim4lifekac kindly suggested here. This can be an explanation why you are receiving duplicate notifications.

Also as an additional note, make sure to install the new version of the Fitbit app. if the update is not in the Google Play store yet, review at a later time. This update will gradually appear to all our Android users. For more details please refer to our post: Android app version 2.71 is now available - 5/1

See you later and as always, let me know any change of this issue.

I don't have any other apps sending me notifications besides the default ones (GMail, Calendar, SMS, etc>).  and 2.71 is NOT on the play store -- 2.70 is.

Fixed this (so far) by disabling email from the main settings menu and enabling Gmail notifications from the app notifications menu. Im guessing because the Gmail notification option is greyed out in the app notifications menu when email notifications is enabled on the main settings menu that the duplicates are coming from Gmail notifications essentially being enabled twice (once in main settings and once in app notifications)

EDIT: this does not work, it just delays notifications so it appears to work until the notifications catch up

Downloaded V2.71 app last night.  Rebooted my phone and Versa.  STILL have duplicate notifications.  What is the timeline to get this fixed?

Versa took a download yesterday V32.32.10.15.  Looks like they fixed the duplicate notifications by changing the entire user interface.  I'm still trying to figure it out, but at least i'm not getting multiple notifications for emails anymore.

I'm sorry but what does this mean? What  "took a download"? Your Versa watch received a new firmware? Your iOS app got updated? Your Android app was updated? They fixed the double notifications by "changing the entire user interface"?

Fitbit, this is absolutely ridiculous.

People have been complaining about this issue for months and the best your representatives have come up with so far is the Bluetooth equivalent of “turn it off and on again”. Which I can tell you is patently not going to fix this issue. This is an app issue, plain and simple.

Having said that, I have tried all of the ridiculous suggestions made by your representatives in this thread, and NONE of them work. At seemingly random intervals, my Versa repeats a stack of my previous notifications. So far I have received some notifications about emails during the past week (I’ve only had my Versa for a week) tens of times.

Basically it it makes my new Versa UNUSABLE as a smart watch.

I am running firmware 32.10.15 and iOS app version 2.51(764), both of which are the latest for today 9th June. 2018.

If you can’t tell us that this is going to be rectified now then I will have no choice but to exercise my rights as an Australian consumer and return it as “not fit for purpose”.

I updated my Versa as soon as the update came out. I have not had a
duplicate notification of any kind since then.
