Set up for a Versa, how long does it take?

I had a charge 2, and now just purchased a versa. The app was already on my phone, it is on the "update with Wi-Fi" step and seems to be stuck. I have it near the router as it suggested, does it just take a while?

@Grenius Depending on the WIFI network it might take even up to an hour. Make sure the connection quality is good. I'm assuming you managed to add WiFi without issues?

@Grenius It's great to see you in our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that your Versa is taking a little while in order to be set up. I would like to follow up and would like to know if your Versa could be set up or if it's still stuck during on the setup process.

Thanks a lot for your help my friend @Marrrmaduke!

I bought my Versa yesterday and have been having problems since. The initial update starts out ok then says it can't connect to WI-FI. I tried Bluetooth and after 4 hours(!) it said update failed. It's midnight and too late to try tonight. Any suggestions?

@ididrarara When doing update over wifi, you need to make sure that both devices involved are on strong wifi and very close to router. If you choose bluetooth way, it will take way longer. What does your Versa display say now? Also, try logging out and back in to fitbit mobile app. Some users reported receiving an update failure notification, but their trackers as it turned out were updated.

Thanks for your reply. I stopped the update as it was after midnight. Will try your suggestions and try again today.

I recently set up a new Versa and it took me about 30-ish minutes from start to finish.  I went home and did it on my lunch break.

Same.

5 hours. Fail.

3 more hours. Fail.

For but versa lite.

Step 2, download fw update.

Via 4g fiber wifi- 9 min per 1% download.

Or

Via data 4g, 3 min per 1% download.

Surely, there should be an option to

.1 download to mobile

.2 push to watch.

@Mollarooney Welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'll be happy to assist you with the setup issues that you are experiencing with your Versa Lite.

I would like to follow up and would like to know if the issue persists or if you were able to set up your Versa Lite. The process may take longer due to the firmware update.

In the meantime, please make sure to follow up the setup process as it's instructed in this help article.

Looking forward to your response! 😀

@Mustangboy1987, I'm sorry for the late response. However, let me welcome you to our Fitbit Community.

Since the firmware update can't be completed, I'd like you to try the troubleshooting steps that are listed in this help article. After this, run the firmware update again and see if it gets completed.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

Hi. Just got my Fitbit Versa.  I got it setup and it took.just a little over an hour.  However, I couldn't get itto pair or connect with my wifi, which needs to be done so i can transfer music.  It just continued saying connecting for about 10 minutes before I stopped it.  How long does it usually take?  I still need to setup wifi.  Thanks

Beginning to regret purchasing these rubbish gadgets from Fitbit.

Why doesnt things just work straight away out of the box?????????

I would rather have an obsolete product that works properly and smoothly out of the box, than one where there is lots of firmware updates but so many issues and problems.
