Hi @Chrekyb  your son is too young for the Versa 2. Due to laws across the world, children are prohibited from having an online account and using these devices. The Ace series was made especially to allow children six and up to use these services. Fitbit is abiding by those laws. Lying about the age is the only solution, but would create a problem since the algorithms are made based on gender, age, height and weight. So that would give completely wrong data for your child. Lying about the age is the only workaround if you're not using the Ace.

Unfortunately we have had the ACE in the family and was not well received.

So - the family account ( which i have set up) why are Fitbit 'forcing' people  or assuming that kids ( aged 11 and 12 ) would only want an ACE?  Not impressed with that. I know all about the lying about a childs age - hence why i havent done it

I might as well send it back if i cannot synch it to the app - through the family account .

thanks!

Fitbit isn't forcing users, they are following the rules of the government.

Maybe Fitbit will add more trackers, have you voted

Not sure how allowing a parent to add a device.of their choice into  a family account is breaking the rules of govt, but thank you for your response.

Yep. Thank you. I know the law and I am not intending to breaking it or put my son in any online madness.  I  have asked the question so I will wait to hear what firbit says.  There is a query under review or under consideration so perhaps the request is not that strange after all.
