Versa 3 that I received as a replacement for my defective Ionic doesn’t seem to work either. I go into the settings on the Fitbit ok but it won’t let me make any changes. It is stuck on dim display setting and push button to wake. Fitbit seems to have really gone into the toilet ever since google took over. I don’t think I will be wasting any more of my money on this crap.

Sounds like you are in Sleep Mode, and it is acting just the way it is supposed to be acting in Sleep Mode. Go to Quick Settings to get out of Sleep Mode. Or if you really are convinced it is junk, there are probably people who would love a gift of a Versa 3 that is working correctly.

I don't think Ionic or previous models had Sleep Mode. Some of the Quick Settings (also Screen Wake) can get turned on accidentally. Sleep Mode can be useful set automatically to go on or off by schedule or manually in Quick Settings. As you found out, it does a few functions to prevent interruptions while sleeping. I never use it myself but suppose it could be useful for some.
