Setup difficulties with Samsung

As per subject my wifes phone wont connect.  She used to have a fitbit charge 2.  We disconnected it because it died and i bought her Versa 2 and i cant connect to her account.  Very disappointed.  Any ideas before i sell and buy a samsung watch instead.
