Sleep Time Math

The other night my V2 marked my bedtime at 23:02 and wake time at 06:14, which was 7 hr 12 minutes. It said that I was awake 41 minutes, which means I was asleep 6 hr 31 minutes.  HOWEVER, my Fitbit V2, credited me with 5 hr 34 min of sleep??

Bad math?  Anyway,  I resync'd several times and it wouldn't correct itself. That is only the second time I've noticed such a mistake over many weeks. But, what causes it? How may I correct in the future?

Sleep time does not include any wake time in the night [between start of sleep and wake]. It is most likely correct.

I understand that, but after it subtracted my wake time, the math was wrong. Every night, except twice, it is correct. I am just trying to determine why it was wrong those two times and correct all the other times? is it just an anomaly?

Is 5 hr 34 min the sum of Rem, Deep and light sleep?

Yes. From bedtime to wake time, 23:02 to 06:14 was 7 hr 12 min

Awake 41 min, REM 1 hr 17 min, Light 3 hr. 59 min, Deep 18 min = 5:34 of sleep, 6:15 total time accounted for.

My question: Where was the other 57 minutes?

Hi Dave

It is odd.

You can try and clear the cache, this helps sort out problems with the App, but it may be too late for that night.

In Android phone Settings *

Apps

Fitbit

Storage - clear cache [not data]

Force Fitbit shutdown

[though it doesn't seem to fully]

Log back in to the Fitbit app

*Quick Shortcut: Press and hold the Fitbit launch icon, then App info [on some phones]

Then get into the Fitbit App,logout and restart the phone.

It is doubtful if it recalculates it but may resolve it happening again.
