Sleep Tracking Not Working

ANSWERED
Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I am opening this topic here because I have tried EVERYTHING suggested to get my Versa to track my sleep with even a vague accuracy.

It simply doesn't work consistently at all.

I have patiently waited for months for Fitbit to come up with a solution to this issue but constantly read the implication that it is user-error.

Tonight a moderator of a previous thread decided to close it - whilst many of us were faithfully waiting for a promised helpful response which never came!

I guess that is Fitbit saying "It doesn't work - live with it! You're on your own!"

Shame on you Fitbit!

I bought my Fitbit Versa Lite the Friday before Father’s Day.  Two weeks ago this coming Friday.  I have wore it to bed every night since and has only tracked my sleep twice in 10 days!

Ive called Fitbit Customer Service several times and all they tell me to do is do a hard reset!

Think this his is a bust!  So disappointed!!’  Think I’m taking it back to store where I got it before my 30 days is up!

How do you know which program you are using?

I can’t say that the Versa sleep tracker doesn’t work it just has no accuracy. I get it. It’s relying on heart rate and is you’re wide awake but just laying there you fool it.  If you turn over it thinks you might be awake for a few seconds.  It totally misses. And then provides a rating of how I slept based on it’s completely inaccurate data. Probably shouldn’t try to do something it can’t.  Saves a lot of questions!

Good to know its months later and I'm having the exact same issue with my Versa 2...and the same response from Tech "Support". Its based on movement...so they expect me to believe that suddenly 3 weeks ago I started waving my hands in the air for 90% of my sleep time...right.

What is this bottom right button? I have a button on the side but that is the only one.

Hi

Well we're now in 2020 and I have the versa 2 and the sleep record is shocking..I've given up trying to work it out like you I had no trouble with my Blaze or Ionic I think you're right it's because of the single diode

I did get overexcited the other night it correctly recorded 6hrs of sleep...but then next night although I know I slept at least 7hrs it recorded 1hr 30mins(?)

Now it records between 1hr and or no sleep recorded

The usual answer I get is to restart it or I'm moving too much etc

Sleep score is not that important to me apart from that I love my Versa 2 I just wish Fitbit would acknowledge there is a flaw in the hardware and point out that the sleep option might not work as stated

My versa 2 records my night sleep fairly well,  but it generally shows an hour or more of sleep during the day, while I’m preparing dinner, walking around the house, reading, anything but not sleeping or even lying down.

Even after the update the sleep and the heart rate monitors worked for a day or so but now the sleep stopped working and when it works it shows up in the old format.

Im tired of waiting for them to fix this it’s been months and I’m buying a garmin.
I don’t hear or read of these types of issues.

I have since discovered that wearing my Fitbit ABOVE my wrist (inch above
my wrist- bone) has given consistent results. It hasn't lost a night's
records for months. No complaints now - to my surprise it's a very
useful, accurate device.
Wearing it on my wrist as I did with my previous Fitbit, just doesn't work
for me.
Hope you get yours sorted 😌

Can't express how disappointing the Versa2 sleep tracking is.  Mine recorded abt 1 hour sleep per night the 1st 3 nights, even though I know I slept 6-8 hr each night.  I reset the sensitivity, restarted the Versa2 and on the 4th night nothing recorded.  I then started playing with the sleep start and stop times, and it changed night 4 from 0 hrs to almost 8 hrs of sleep.  Night 5 1 hr again.  Night 6 nothing.  This time I changed the sleep period from beginning at 11 pm to 10 pm and magically it changed the sleep from zero to 7 hours of sleep.  I don't know how the technology works but I have zero confidence in any of the sleep numbers.   Sent the Versa2 back today.  Gonna buy a Garmin instead.

I agree! Since the day I have have had it the sleep tracker has been useless at best. I too sought support that did not resolve the issue.

Spot on! Mine has gaps where nothing is tracked. I go to bed at 10pm and instead of one nights sleep it also separates it into two separate days! To market it as a sleep tracker is false advertising and it is not fit for the purpose.

I wear it on the inside of my wrist now and it works fine.

Sounds good, but I really don’t want to sleep with my Fitbit face on the
inside of my wrist.

The only thing I'm glad to see here is that I'm not alone. I know I get bad sleep, but I know I wasn't up since 1 am. This is nearly every night. This is the first smart watch to give me any issues. I guess I'm going back to support and seeing what they can do for me. *Spoiler alert it's nothing
