Sleep and Activity Tracking

Using a fitbit is new to me, so my questions and use may be user error.  However, I thought I would pose this question as it appears that others are having the same issues.

My Versa doesn't appear to be tracking sleep.  I have slept 3 nights now (while wearing it) and only the 1st night was tracked - not even sure that was accurate.

It automatically tracked my Boot Camp class on Tuesday.  On Wednesday at Zumba, I scrolled to the exercise screen and "started a new workoutand ended (on the fitbit) the workout when class was over.  I can't find that "saved workout" info anywhere.

Am I doing something wrong?  Am I suppose to manually track my workouts? Or should the Versa track them automatically?

To see saved workout, on your phone app, click the showing days weekly exercise.  In the lower part of that screen, it should show the individual workouts.  Tap any one of them the see more details.

I personally find it is more reliable to track workouts using the exercise app, starting and stopping workout from the tracker, as it sounds you did.

JOHNNYROW -thanks for your feedback.

The only exercise that shows in "days weekly exercise" is the workout I did on Tuesday night. I never manually entered it.  It populated automatically.  The workout that I "manually entered" last night (Wednesday) doesn't appear to be recorded anywhere.  (I'm looking at the phone app).

Ah! It appears it isn't syncing.

In the "app" it reads the last sync was Tues at 11pm - it's now Thursday at 11:40am??

I tried "rebooting" as others have suggested (left button and right bottom button-hold until FitBit symbol appears) - but this didn't help.

Maybe this is why my exercise isn't showing up?

Here is the help section on tracking exercise:

How do I track my workouts with my Fitbit device?

I suggest experimenting some with the exercise app on your Versa.  I expect this is what you were doing, but from main clock face, swipe left until get to Exercise, tap that, swipe left or right to get to exercise type you want, tap that.  Then, maybe varying with exercise type, it says Let's Go with an arrow at bottom right, tap tht arrow and it will start tracking.  When done, tap the pause symbol bottom right puts you in pause mode.  Then you still have to tap the green flag at top right.  Then get a question 'End this exercise?' cancel or end.  Tap end and get a summary on Versa.  When done looking at summary, swipe up until see 'Done' button.  Tap that and you're out of exercise section.  Maybe still have to press left button to get back to clock screen.

There are several steps to actually ending workout.  Maybe you didn't properly go through all  ending steps at end.  Just try it out anytime without actually doing a workout to test the steps - no harm done by recording a dummy workout.

Thanks again JohnnyRow. I printed your instructions so I can have them for my next workout.

The solution to my problem - I think - was a syncing issues. I spent time with Fitbit Chat today and it appears to be working well - time will tell for sure.
