I am new to Fitbit, after using a Microsoft Band 2 for the past year or 2. What I really liked about the Band was that I could enter sleep mode, which meant 2 things - 1) it would measure how long it took me to fall asleep, and 2) it would stop the screen from coming on in the middle of the night. I'm less concerned about the 1st feature, but my wife would like me to be able to turn off my screen at night so it doesn't wake her when I turn over.
Is there a "sleep mode" on this device?

All the intel is available in the app. Just tap on the sleep tile and then scroll down to tap open the seperate days. There you can see your sleep phases and can compare your nightly data with your own average data and your age group's avarage. (It's interesting how much being awake is considered normal...).
Also, if you touch on the graphic to zoom in, you can find information on the meaning of the different sleep phases.
So, just play around with the Fitbit app on your phone a little! There's lots of nice little details hidden that you don't see immediately.

Long press the LEFT button to bring up the notification/wake options. If you have fitbit pay enabled, that will come up instead, and you will need to swipe to the left. Then tap on "Screen Wake" to disable the auto screen wake feature. You will now need to press on the LEFT button again to wake up the screen.
UPDATE: Apparently, you can still wake up the screen by tapping on the touch screen as well. I don't know if that's a problem for you and your wife. I don't think that'll be a problem for me, but I'll let you know if my wife kicks me to complain about the screen because it registered a "tap" and turned on.
UPDATE 2: You're not limited to pressing the LEFT button -- you can wake the screen by pressing ANY of the buttons.
I also tap on "Notifications" to disable notifications while I am sleeping. So far, it appears that only my alarm will cause the Versa to vibrate.
HTH.
UPDATE 3 (it's been several days): I've rolled around a few times to see if my screen wakes up, but I have not seen it do so... even from lifting/twisting my wrist. The screen does wake up if tapped on, but I can't seem to figure out how/when this works out as it's not consistent -- sometimes I only need to tap it once, other times I have to tap it multiple times. HOWEVER, this doesn't seem to be an issue while I'm asleep.
Also worth noting is that I don't use the mobile app to start my sleep, but rather let the Versa auto detect my sleep. Additionally, my phone is on "Do Not Disturb".

Thanks Len. That's an acceptable work-around. I'm guessing Fitbit won't add a sleep mode to cover both of my issues (not that they're that big of a deal).
Cheers.

I forgot to mention your FIRST point.
Though the application doesn't seem to tell you how long you took to fall asleep, here are some screenshots to show you what the sleep insight looks like.
This first one is the overview (I've only had this since Monday night so I've only got 3 sleep sessions):
The next is a detailed view of last night's sleep:

@Len_Kawamoto You can click any button too, not just the left one:)

I thought that the Versa would turn off "quick view" during sleep, or at least turn it off during the "target sleep schedule". I got my Versa yesterday and the face lights up every time I turn over. Is the Ionic model the only device that doesn't wake up during sleep ?
This is one of the reasons I stopped wearing my Charge 2 to bed and the top reason for getting a new Fitbit. There should be an option or setting in the Sleep section of the app.
Thanks,
Jeff

I haven't noticed that -- I'll ask my wife specifically to see if she's noticed that. I'll also test it out later tonight by rolling over a couple of times and see if the screen wakes up.

Versa does not turn quick view off during sleep. I wish they would give the option to do so. It wakes me up at night. I keep Screen Wake set to manual because I just don't have the mental capacity to remember to do it each night. I'm a working mother. There's far too much on my brain already.

This sleep intel looks amazing! How do I see that on my versa or in the app? I can’t seem to find 😞 The settings seem so limited on the versa unless I’m missing something 😕

I agree an update that would allow you to lock the Fitbit Versa screen at least during scheduled sleep hours would help me fall asleep. Whenever I turn over the screen lights up 🙄. Kind of defeats the purpose of trying to track sleep if it prevents sleep...

There is a Sleep Mode under Settings which will do what you’re after

It disappeared after update. It is important to me to measure sleep—quality of sleep, etc. now I see no sleep anything. The category is GONE

I put it in sleep mode and now it won't let me tap on it to open it and change it? Any idea why? Making me dislike this product already!

Everything works fine for me so I will just go over what you need to do for a Versa: (Versa 2 may be different)
1. press left-hand button to display clock
2. while clock is displayed, swipe left twice to display the "settings" app (white cog)
3. tap settings and this will display options for Brightness(Auto), Screen Timeout(time before screen sleeps 10s), Sleep Mode, Do Not Disturb(Off),Screen Wake(Auto -motion), Vibrations(Normal), Left Button, Bluetooth, Heart Rate(On) and About(tech information about your Versa)
4.Tap on Sleep Mode and make sure first option is "Off" then
5. Tap on Schedule and set this to "On" then
6. Tap on "Customize" to select start and end of schedule - I have set mine to 22:00 to 08:00.
7. Press left button (one or more times) to go back to previous options.
This makes my Versa go into sleep mode overnight so watch doesn't keep lighting up.
Good Luck!

Thank you for this information. I have been researching this for a couple of hours and this is the only thing that worked for me.

I have just noticed that if you are within the sleep mode scheduled time then Sleep Mode is set to ON. The schedule is what seems to turn it on and off

The auto setting turns off when "Do not disturb" is on. You will also not be able to get any notifications you have set.

I've done that and still can't get any notifications.
