Sleep tracker is no good

I have  had the Versa3 for a few weeks now. Before I go to bed I double check that the sleep tracker is on and it rarely captures the time I actually fall asleep. For example, I went to bed at 11:00PM last night and fell asleep quickly. The tracker shows I went to sleep at 2AM. I woke up at 8;00AM. The tracker shows 7:45AM. Maybe I was tossing and turning in the morning so I’ll let that one pass. I am trying to monitor my sleep at my doctor’s request. And this is nothing less than frustrating. I have set up all the seethings and goals in the app. Any suggestions on how to get a more accurate sleep report?

@TranceKelley  There is nothing to be activated to get sleep detected.  That crescent moon just puts you in 'Sleep Mode' which has nothing to do with sleep detection, but changes some settings to prevent you getting disturbed during sleep, such as turning on 'do not disturb' and dimming the screen.

Hi, @TranceKelley , are you turning on sleep tracking manually?  If so you will not get accurate results, as manual sleep setting is designed for older Fitbits.  The Versa 3 should track your sleep automatically.  I would suggest just going to bed without worrying about the settings, and see what happens.

I’m not turning it on….just double checking to see if it was activated by the sleep settings settings in the app. I’m not clicking anything just swiping to the screen to see if the crescent moon is illuminated. Which it is. While looking more into this it appears that a restart may be needed. Gonna try that today.

I often have to edit the times because if I get up to go to the bathroom sometimes it will not include the first couple of hours, but it will fill in after I edit the time.

Really all that is needed to do is

Wear your fitbit

Go to sleep.

Sleep for at least. 3 hours.

It is possible, at a lot of arm movements in early sleep may cause a delayed sleep detection. This can be easily edited after your first sync.

Check that the HR is enabled.
