SmartTrack not auto recognised swim

I’ve done a 40ish minute swim tonight.  My SmartTrack is set to auto recognise swims after 10 minutes.  When I sync my device it’s shows that I have active minutes (43) but shows no swim.  I was moving continuously during the swim.  I have logged out of Fitbit.  Restarted my Versa 2, disconnected via Bluetooth, restarted my phone and connected all back up with no swim added still.  What can I do to get this facility working again?

Think about what your wrist was doing.  That is all that Fitbit sees.  Was it doing continuous motion that would be recognizable as swimming?  As an example if you are holding a kickboard in front of you and doing kicking exercises, no matter how strenuous, fitbit can only see your wrist being still.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Thank you for replying 😊

I was swimming continuous breaststroke with no rest in between lengths.  I probably managed 36-40ish lengths so I would have presumed that it would pick the activity up.
