Hi All,
I recently updated my Huawei P10 to android 8.0 and was having syncing issues with notifications.
After going through all the steps of re-syncing and restarting.
I figirf out the way to fix it (well on my phone anyways).
It looks like the 'Phone Manager' manage background apps has changed slightly with the update.
I had to change the app from ''Manage Atomaticslly' to 'Manage Manually' then select then select 'Auto-Launch' 'Secondary Launch' and ''Run in Background'.
This seems to have worked for me.
Good Luck to everyone.

@ColonelHawx I hope you're doing well! The update was done to the phone, we don't know what changed there. It would be better if you ask Huawei about this. Still the developers do try to help iron out any syncing issues with phones as this benefits many users around the world. Still you can try these suggestions to help fix the syncing issues.
Keep me posted!
