Hey , my Fitbit is not registering stairs climbed correctly , sometimes not at all .

I’ve read the threads linked to this about the small hole on the back of the device ….my question is …

How do I clear it if it’s blocked ?

TY in advance 😀

Hi @RatDog1  -  before addressing the hardware check it's not a software problem.

Restart the watch, in the watch Settings menu, scroll to the bottom and click Shutdown. Wait 10 seconds and place on the charger to restart it and charge it.

You can check how your watch pressure sensor is behaving by using the SimpleFloors app.

It shows how your watch is affected by environmental issues such as, going room to room, upstairs/downstairs, inside to outside, changes in temperature, etc. and if the pressure is actually changing or static.

If it is not registering pressure changes the sensor hole could be blocked, see How do I clean my Fitbit device?  Don't poke anything in the hole in case you damage the sensor. Or it could be a watch fault.

I did all that you suggested but the stair count is still very erratic .

@RatDog1  - if the app count is good it would indicate a firmware fault most probably.

Ah ok , ty .

I guess I’m going to have to return it again ….then I’ll be on Fitbit #3 .

@RatDog1  - the watch is probably not faulty, the latest firmwares affect us all.
