I have had my Versa for a few days. While I love it I have noticed that it seems overly sensitive when tracking steps particularly while driving. In a 30 minute drive it clocked up over 1000 steps :S. i wearit on my left wrist and read that changing the setting to dominate hand would possibly resolve this but it has not. Has anyone else had this issue and if so any tips to rectify it ?

Mine is also extremely sensitive. I'm starting to get annoyed. I don't want to get overly excited and think that I'm taking as many steps as it says I am. If it's going to be off every day, I just don't see the point of this.

Yes I get 3000+ steps on my 30 min motorcycle ride to work each day. Very frustrating and disappointing.

I hope they fix this as I got 10k+ steps driving for 9+ hrs. Wife has the charge 2 and had a total of 1600ish which makes sense, stopping breaks, etc......

My Versa is wildly inaccurate in steps, floors, and sleep.
I can add 6 or more steps by simply moving my arm up 10 inches and down again, 3 times.
I’ve changed from non-dominant to dominant but it is still counting way more steps than it should. My Charge HR 2 didn’t do this.

I suspect that the sleep and floor inaccuracies are directly related to the over-sensitivity that is counting too many steps.
I’ve put one of the stock Fitbit clocks back on, and have rebooted my Versa twice, but the problem persists.
I hope Fitbit can fix this with a software update, and I hope they are listening to us...

In a word: Yes. I drove from Reno to Davis CA yesterday, never left the car, and was rewarded with an 1100 increase in step count when I arrived. Got another 600 steps on the way back.
It gets better - I just had my Fitbit app open on my iPhone while I had my left arm (my Fitbit wearing arm) over the side of my chair and was stroking my cat. Each time I moved my arm to pet the cat I recorded another step.
I've owned three different Fitbit models now and this is the first time I've ever seen such egregious erroneous performance like this. If this isn't fixed very soon I would say this Fitbit watch is a very pricey piece of $200 garbage.

A setting really needs to be added to adjust the sensitivity or something. Seems like I could have just downloaded a step tracker on my phone and it would have been just the same as or more accurate, and it would have at least been for free!! I am getting amazing steps while typing this, setting in a computer chair…

I have been awarded with an 10 minute "exercise" while I was playing a quiet game with friends... on pc.

After some experimentation, I have found that the Versa counts steering wheel movements as steps. So it thinks I am active when I am driving and counts increases in elevation as floors. When I take the Versa off my wrist and keep it on my person, it ceases to count driving as steps and floors.
This may be a workaround for some, but it it is not a solution. The fact remains that my Charge handles driving correctly and the Versa does not. Therefore, there is a problem with the Versa.
I hope Fitbit can fix these problems soon.

I did the same thing and took the Versa off and put it in my backpack while riding my motorcycle to work. It still picked up the steps ??? and had a heart beat reading ????
i am returning my Versa today. I’ve had enough - it is not fit for purpose.

Wow. I guess I could <almost> imagine it picking up steps on a bike in your backpack, but a heartbeat? That’s a little disturbing.
