I have had my Versa for a few days. While I love it I have noticed that it seems overly sensitive when tracking steps particularly while driving. In a 30 minute drive it clocked up over 1000 steps :S. i wearit on my left wrist and read that changing the setting to dominate hand would possibly resolve this but it has not. Has anyone else had this issue and if so any tips to rectify it ?

I went on a road trip yesterday and it said I was biking the whole time and apparently went for a swim lol. I just upgraded from the Blaze and I’m annoyed!!

Up today I did not know that the dominant setting reduces the sensivity. Have a look here.

Very disappointed with Versa. It looks cool but the step will self accelerate without me doing anything and just sitting in front of my PC. Normally i would have inactive day of 2k step. With versa the step reach 8k.

I am also having issues. I haven't moved al all, other than brushing my hair and it counted 30 steps. It is over counting everything.

I recently bought the fitbit versa and I have experienced the same. I am seeing steps counted and hundreds of them as soon as I wake up from Sleep (am sure I wasn't sleepwalking), when I ride my motorbike, when I brush my teeth and drive my car. The same occurs with regards to stairs climbed. This was not expected of a fitness focus device that promised so much.
BTW, to clarify, sleep sensitivity is set to normal and I wear it in my right hand with the setting on the device set to be worn on the 'dominant' hand.

Hi I believe the Americans say “stick shift” in reference to a vehicle with a Manual transmission (? Tranny). So if you are driving a Right Hand Drive and are shifting with the left...
Test the step sensitivity with arm swing: bicep curl etc.
Hope it helps. The alternative is Mobile Track from your handset is double counting.

Can anyone tell me if this has been fixed yet? I currently have a Charge 3, which has major sensitivity issues. I was looking at switching to the Versa for the app integration (specifically the sleep cycle alarm), and the app that tracks driving and removes those steps.
I'm on a computer all day and would like to know if the Versa is going to wildly miscount my steps because of that.

At least I can use TravelBit to prevent the Versa from counting false steps, I guess.

Hi Faile486
i am not familiar with TravelBit. So far my iPhone 8 and Versa are working well together. All the best with the new trick. Step counting (most phones can do the same) is great BUT the main purpose of my Versa is to track my HR Zone during workouts.

Yes, I’m having the same issue. I have double the steps than my sister while on vacation...doing exact same activities.

I took off all the auto stuff under the exercise other than steps so let's see what happens. I walked from my kitchen to my office - about 15 steps, I was at 79, so I just disabled all the auto things off my iPhone and I hope that will solve the excessive steps.
