Steps dont match miles

I make my steps during the day while I'm at work,  but I only get like a mile in. When I walk the dig at night I get more miles in then when I'm walking around at work. I checked my settings and my height and weight are right for the stride length but does it make a difference if I'm going on an actual walk or just walking around at work?

It really is not easy to answer this, while at work it would be rare to walk your normal stride.

If your using GPS at night on a walk then it might not be comparable.

However Fitbit should take your steps and multiply them by your perceived stride.

I'm not sure what the dig is or the steps counted during the day in relation to the steps counted at night.

On my walking for fun 3168 steps equal a mile. O

I don't know what this  is set at but I've  only been getting a out fall the mileage

How do I set it so that it  matches?
