If you go to your profile settings by selecting your profile image on the main dashboard screen, do you see your fitbit listed in the "devices" section?
If not, then it may have become disconnected from your account which would explain why steps are missing. You can reconnect it by going through the setup process again by selecting "set up a device"

I noticed last night that my versa whilst accurately tracking is a bit hit and miss in syncing the data to the app with an incomplete account Sunday and no data on Monday or Tuesday with both days showing as 0.75km . It is really frustrating. I’ve reset my -home and the Fitbit removed and reconnected but nothing. Any ideas please?

My device is there everything else ok except no steps. Can see weight, exercise, sleep etc
