Steps while driving

I bought a fit bit Versa to accurately monitor my heart rate and steps during the day. After searching the forums I have found many posts regarding steps being recorded while on motorcycles, vehicles etc. My job requires the extensive use of a quad, and travel on many back roads. I find this thing records steps while on the quad as well as on my Harley and even while traveling field to field. It is worthless for what I want it for if I need to shut it down before I go on a ride, or travel in the truck. I find that other smartwatches have this figured out, I mean for gosh Sake, who can walk 35 plus miles per hour. From the forum posts I could find there was some lip service from Fit Bit regarding future workarounds to solve this problem even a suggestion to use "bicycle mode". I am posting this again to draw attention to the fact this needs to be fixed, it can't be that hard to update the firmware to have it not record steps over a certain speed?

It is not like this thing was cheap.Come on Fit bit fix this crap. Motorcycle quad snowmobile truck car vehicle, inserted to hopefully help out others with the same problem.

That post was from 2014, what has fitbit done about it?  There is no use posting ideas if fitbit is not correcting the issue.

I'm going through the same issue right now. I bought the Versa 2 on Monday. Today it logged 6k steps while I drove for 3 hours. After searching every Reddit post and forum post I could going back all the way to 2014. I still don't see a solution. That's really sad and i'm pretty sure I will be returning my fitbit.

The entire reason I bought the fitbit was because I was told it didn't log steps while driving. Which is why I bought it to replace my phone as a step and calorie counter. If it cant do whats its suppose to do then i'm just better off using the phone I already carry with me all day long.
